§ Mr. TomlinsonOn 23rd September 1975, my right hon. Friend the then Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs drew the attention of members of the United Nations to the enormous waste of the world's resources on weapons of destruction. On 1st July 1976 my right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State urged the Conference of the Committee on Disarmament to pay more attention to the control of conventional weapons. Her Majesty's Government will continue to encourage international discussion of the possibilities of arms limitation.
