§ Mr. John Huntasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why he agreed not to disclose the name of one of the three British subjects arrested in Moscow in June on charges of trying to smuggle marijuana through the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics to Western Europe.
§ Mr. TomlinsonIt is contrary to practice to divulge the names of British subjects detained overseas without their consent. Consequently when two British subjects were arrested in Moscow in June and another in April, my officials did not disclose their names until July by which time their identities had become known to the media.
