asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the distribution of the Atlas of the Seas around the British Isles prepared by the Directorate of Fisheries Research of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; what Departments contribute to its production; what is its cost; and by what Departments is the cost borne.

This Fisheries Research Technical Report has been distributed to Government Departments, Universities and organisations in the private sector with an interest in marine research. A number of foreign marine science establishments have also requested and been sent copies. 350 copies of the Atlas have been printed at a cost of approximately 50p per copy. This will be borne on the Vote of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Sources of information for this useful collation of the available data on the shelf seas around the British Isles are included in the Atlas.
