51WMy Department's statistics are analysed according to the Minimum List Headings of the Standard Industrial Classification. Inshore fishing is not separately identified but is included under the heading Fishing. The table below shows the numbers of employees in employment in fishing in Great Britain for each mid-year from June 1965 to June 1975, the latest date for which the information is available. The figures are from the "Continuous" series of employment estimates which allow for the discontinuities in former series.
