HL Deb 08 October 1976 vol 374 c1708WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What steps they are taking to ensure that environmental Regulations and Directives of the EEC are based on better scientific and technical evidence.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, DEPARTMENT of the ENVIRONMENT (Baroness Birk)

Her Majesty's Government makes a full contribution to the work of the European Communities on environmental matters. It is particularly concerned to ensure that the United Kingdom's scientific and technical knowledge is made freely available and, so far as possible, that it is taken into account in framing Community instruments.
