Whether they will make a statement about equality of status for men and women in occupational pension schemes.

In February 1975 the Occupational Pensions Board were asked by the Government to examine the question of equality of status for men and women in occupational pension schemes, and to report. The Board's report—Equal Status for Men and Women in Occupational Pension Schemes was published on August 18 1976 (Cmnd 6599). The Government's legislative proposals arising from consideration of the Board's recommendations were set out in a Consultative Document issued by the Department of Health and Social Security on August 25 1976. Copies of this document have been placed in the Library and are available from the Printed Paper Office. The Government are consulting the organisations most concerned with their proposals, including the TUC and the CBI.
