§ Mr. Meacher,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 15th November 1976; Vol. 919, c. 393], gave the following information:
My Department has made no investigations of this kind. I am informed that the BTA undertook a Survey of Summer Visitors to London in 1968 which provided a breakdown of their expenditure and this has formed the basis for estimates of the breakdown of expenditure in subsequent years. I would commend any action which fosters closer relations between United Kingdom manufacturers and retailers to encourage sales of British products.
