858Wties have full responsibility for the conservation of all objects in their collections. My noble Friend has given priority to their plans for conservation in making grants. So far as local collections are concerned, an annual grant is also made to cover half the expenses of area museum councils. In making the grant my noble Friend has stressed the importance of conservation.
