HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc994-5W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will undertake not to introduce legislation in the next Session to amend Sections 41 and 46 of the Patents Act.

Mr. Ennals

Questions of patent legislation are for my right hon. Friend, the Secretary of State for Trade. I am discussing with the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry and others the effects of Section 41 of the Patents Act 1949 on the pharmaceutical industry. The Government's present policy on patents is set out in the Green Paper and White Paper on "Patent Law Reform"( Cmnd. 6000).
