HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc940-1W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will now define precisely the areas in which expenditure in Northern Ireland will now be reduced during the current financial year and the next financial year in order to produce the moneys needed to finance the present scheme to safeguard the meat industry in Northern Ireland; and if he will detail the practical effect of such reductions in each such area, giving the precise cash figures in each case.

Mr. Dunn

No decision has been taken about continuation of the Meat Industry Employment Scheme beyond February 1977.

It is expected that funds to finance the scheme in the current financial year will be found from the short fall from Northern Ireland programmes. There will be no adverse impact on any existing Northern Ireland programmes.
