HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc926-7W
Mr. Powell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, for the first three-quarters of 1976, what is the immigration figure corresponding to 67,110 for 1975.

Dr. Summerskill

The figure quoted by the right hon. Gentleman appears to relate to the number of New Commonwealth and Pakistan citizens admitted to the United Kingdom in 1975–572,738— less the inherently unreliable figure for embarkations which the Government no longer publish but which is made available on request. Figures for the first nine months of 1976 are not yet available.
