HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 c1008W
Mr. Scott

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether the Government will make provision for the training of health and safety representatives of trade unions and other bodies not affiliated to the TUC.

Mr. John Grant

The Government consider that the responsibility for training of officials and members of trade unions and other employee organisations undertaking duties in the health and safety field rests in the first instance with the unions and organisations concerned which will no doubt have regard to whatever advice on the subject may be given by the Health and Safety Commission.
