HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc952-3W
Mr. Woof

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what main food commodities can be imported from Third Countries more cheaply than from other member countries of the EEC; and if he will publish a list of the foodstuffs and the prices at which they are at present delivered into the United Kingdom, as compared with the prices for similar foodstuffs imported from the EEC.

Mr. Maclennan

Comparisons of the prices of food imports in the terms requested are difficult because prices vary significantly between individual supplying countries whether they are inside or outside the EEC. Moreover, such comparisons can be made only in broad terms
