§ Mr. David Huntasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many surveys, questionnaires, censuses or similar investigations have been carried out, either wholly or partly, at public expense, on behalf of or by his Department or by any public bodies for which he is responsible in 1974, 1975 and in 1976 to date, respectively, specifying their nature and 832W purpose and the total to public found.
§ Mr. ShoreThe wide-ranging information requested is not collated centrally and to do so would incur undue cost. However, the main statistical surveys carried out on behalf of the Department excluding regular routine enquiries, were as follows:
1974 Survey of Moving Households— Household Interview 1974–5 Survey of Privately Rented Accommodation—Panel 1975 Mobile Homes Review—Interviews 1975–6 Housing Experiences of Newly Married Couples—Interviews 1976 English House Condition Survey— Inspection and Interviews 1976 Family Homelessness in London— Household Interviews 1976 Attitudes to Private Letting—Interviews 1976 Housing Problems of Handicapped Children—Interviews. The total direct costs of these surveys and other small ad hoc surveys in the housing and environmental fields is about £800,000 for the three years combined.
