HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc996-7W
Mr. Mike Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services in how many instances in the latest available period of time dentists have not been informed of the examination of one of their patients under General Dental Services Regulation 18; and in how many instances on the rearrangement of such an examination a dentist initially indicating his intention to be present has not been informed of the rearranged examination.

Mr. Moyle

It is part of the standard procedure for notification to be given of the date, time and place of a proposed examination of a patient by one of the Department's dental officers, whether or not the examination is a rearranged one. It is not possible without inordinate expenditure of resources to identify any occasions on which a dentist may not have received such a notification.
