What is the estimate of foreign currency earned by the treatment of foreign nationals in private beds: (a) under the National Health Service, and (b) in privately run medical institutions.
§ Lord WELLS-PESTELLForeign nationals admitted to pay beds in the National Health Service hospitals are not separately identified in the records of private patients. I regret that it is not possible, therefore, to estimate how much of the total income from pay beds—£19.6 million in 1975/76—is derived from foreign currency. I have no information about the income of private hospitals.
