§ 23. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he is satisfied as to the safety of British citizens in Angola; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RowlandsIn the absence of diplomatic relations we are not in a position to exercise normal consular protection of British subjects in Angola. People who remain or travel should be, of course, aware of this. We have been doing our best, through the International Committee of the Red Cross, to assist the seven British mercenaries who are in prison in Angola.
