§ 47. Mr. Michael Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a statement on the admission to hospital on Thursday 11th November of a research worker from Porton.
§ Dr. GilbertOn 5th November, in the course of work being carried out on a Marburg-type virus, as part of a programme requested by the World Health Organisation, a protective glove worn by Mr. G. F. Platt was torn. Immediate precautions were taken and Mr. Platt was put under surveillance. On 11th November he showed a slight rise in temperature and was placed in isolation in Coppetts Wood Hospital. Full safety precautions have been taken and medical bulletins are being issued from time to time. In accordance with normal procedures a full investigation of the incident is being conducted.
