§ Mr. McElhoneCharges to Scottish students at halls of residence in universities in England are the same as for other British students. For students at polytechnics administered by English or Welsh local education authorities, award-making bodies pay the difference between an agreed standard fee and the full economic cost. Such payments by my Department in 1975–76 amounted to about £19,000.
