§ Mr. Hendersonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many claims, and for what amounts, have been received against the compensation fund for fishermen's nets and gear damaged by oil-related debris; and how many have settled.
§ Mr. Hugh D. BrownThe Management Committee for the United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association compensation fund has to date received 61 claims amounting in total to £29,060. Settlements amounting to £17,516 have been made in respect of 52 claims, four were rejected on the grounds that there was insufficient evidence that damage was due to oil-related debris, two were considered ineligible, and the remaining three claims are under consideration.
