HC Deb 09 November 1976 vol 919 cc118-9W
Mr. Beith

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what savings to public funds would be made if Bills, Order Papers and other House Papers of limited life were printed on paper with an 80 per cent. recycled content.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

White papers containing 80 per cent. or more of recycled fibre are available, but they cost more that the white paper currently used. A blue tinted paper with at least 80 per cent. recycled fibre is available, which would be cheaper that the blue tinted paper at present employed; but its inferior machining quality would give rise to additional printing costs and less reliable service.
