HC Deb 09 November 1976 vol 919 c135W
18. Mr. Durant

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how the latest round of defence cuts will affect Great Britain's responsibilities to NATO and employment prospects in the Services.

Mr. Mulley

There will be no reductions in our front line contribution to the alliance as a result of the latest cuts. I anticipate no further reductions in the uniformed strength of the Services beyond those announced in the 1975 Defence White Paper.

24. Mr. Goodhart

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a further statement about the implementation of defence cuts.

Mr. Mulley

I have nothing to add to the reply I gave the hon. Member on 12th October 1976.—[Vol. 917, c. 230.]

26. Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the total value at present day prices of defence cuts made or proposed since the Government took office in 1974.

Mr. Mulley

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Harrogate (Mr. Banks) on 29th October 1976.—[Vol. 918, c.395.]

38. Mr. Luce

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is satisfied with the present level of expenditure on defence.

Mr. Mulley

Yes.
