HC Deb 09 November 1976 vol 919 c106W
Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has now received from the RIBA details of its most recent six-monthly survey of the workload in private architectural practices and in public sector offices; and what action he proposes to take on the principal finding that only 7 per cent. of private practices, compared with 76 per cent. of public offices, have more than 12 months' work in hand.

Mr. Freeson

Yes. The problems facing the architectural profession are an integral part of the problems facing the construction industry generally, and I shall be discussing the situation further in the National Consultative Council for the Building and Civil Engineering Industries shortly.
