HL Deb 08 November 1976 vol 377 c172WA
Lord O'HAGAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How prices to the consumer will be affected by the ending of the transitional period leading up to full British participation in the CAP.

Lord STRABOLGI

CAP institutional prices in the United Kingdom are due to be aligned with Community common prices by 1st January 1978 but it is not possible to predict the effect on consumer prices, because these will be governed by many other factors as well, including movements in exchange rates, the rate of United Kingdom inflation, changes in world market prices and any increases in CAP institutional prices.
