asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will give and classify figures for the number of skilled operatives in the building industry registered as unemployed in the Northern Region at the latest available date.

Mr. Golding

The numbers of unemployed people who last worked in the construction industry are analysed according to the occupation for which they are registered for subsequent employment. The analysis relates to those registered at employment offices—but not careers offices—and information is available only for the occupations shown in the table below.
