§ Rear-Admiral Morgan-Gilesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a decision concerning the application of Mrs. Syeda Jebunnessa Begum for registration as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies under Section 6(2) of the British Nationality Act 1948 (Home Office reference C 172326) which was first made in March 1975.
§ Dr. SummerskillWhile Mrs. Syeda Jebunnessa Begum was not found qualified for registration under Section 6(2) of the Act, she appears to have acquired an entitlement under Section 6(1), and her solicitors were told in a letter dated 20th October that a formal application under this subsection would be accepted. I regret that her application was not handled more expeditiously.
