§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Minister for Overseas Development whether any changes have been made in arrangements for handling Her Majesty's Government's immediate disaster relief aid for developing countries.
§ Mr. JuddWhen the disaster unit was set up in the Ministry of Overseas Development in June 1974 the Foreign and Commonwealth Office retained responsibility for Her Majesty's Governmenment's initial responses to natural disasters in developing countries. These arrangements have been kept under review, and it has now been decided to transfer this responsibility also to the Ministry of Overseas Development disaster unit.
