§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will ensure that forms and notifications isued by him, or under his authority, under the Highways Acts 1959 to 1971 and the Acquisition of Land (Authorisation Procedure) Act 1946 are sent either in a bilingual version or that Welsh forms always accompany those in the English language.
§ Mr. Barry JonesIt is already my right hon. and learned Friend's practice when he is required to give public notice in the Press of the various statutory procedures under these Acts to do so in both English and Welsh wherever appropriate.
There are problems involved in the preparation of the individual notices requiring to be served under the Acts in Welsh or bilingual form, but my right hon. and learned Friend will consider whether it is possible to further extend the use of Welsh or bilingual notices in the light of demand.
