Mr. Alan WilliamsConsumption of waste paper by the United Kingdom paper and board industry rose steadily from 1.8 million tonnes in 1971 to 2.1 million tonnes in 1974. In 1975 it fell to 1.7 million tonnes as a result of the economic recession. The forecast is, however, that this figure will rise to 3.2 million tonnes by 1981.
