asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many cases have occurred in each of the last two years where tuberculosis has broken out on farms; and how many of those farms had imported cattle from the Irish Republic during the previous two years.

Republic or, in a few cases, possibly from Northern Ireland. Information about infected herds in the South-West of England has been provided separately because a high proportion of the cases occurring there can be attributed to the existence of bovine tuberculosis in local badger colonies.
