Department to take action against subsidised imports of women's leather footwear from Brazil. Such action can be taken only if satisfactory evidence is provided that imports are being subsidised, that the subsidisation is causing or threatening material injury to the United Kingdom industry and that such action is in the national interest. At present we are still awaiting evidence of material injury from the United Kingdom industry. If this is received, we will pursue the matter urgently.
