HC Deb 28 May 1976 vol 912 c435W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what parts of the A470 north-south road in Wales are scheduled for development as dual carriageway road; and what is the latest timetable for commencing and completing work on these sections.

Mr. Barry Jones

Current plans for the improvement of the A470 Cardiff-Glan Conwy Trunk Road provide for new dual carriageway roads between Abercynon and the Cefn Coed area, and on the southern section of the Brecon bypass. The former scheme is still in the preparation pool and it is too early to say precisely when work will start. A start of work on the Brecon bypass is dependent on the availability of funds.

Improvements to other parts of this road are being planned to single carriageway standards which will be adequate to meet the foreseeable needs of traffic on those sections.
