§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if it is his policy that local authorities should make a charge for meals at training centres.
§ Dr. OwenLocal authorities are empowered by Section 12(5) of the Health Services and Public Health Act 1968 (as amended by the Local Authority Social Services Act 1970 and the Local Government Act 1974) to make such charges for services provided, including the provision of meals at adult training centres, as the local authorities consider reasonable, having regard to the means of the persons using the services.
