§ Lord JACQUES: The United Kingdom has been allocated the following sums from the EEC Social Fund in the years since accession:

§ Lord O'HAGANasked Her Majesty's Government to list their current applications to the Social Fund, indicating which applications will benefit,—
- (a) local authorities:
- (b) non-governmental bodies:
- (c) voluntary organisations.
§ Lord JACQUES: The following current applications to the Social Fund will, if successful, benefit non-Governmental bodies:
Applications by the following Industrial Training Boards (ITBs):— Man-made Fibres, Cotton and Allied Textiles, Air Transport and Travel, Shipbuilding (in conjunction with the Training Services Agency (TSA)) Engineering (in conjunction with the TSA):
Applications by 11 private firms grant aided by the Northern Ireland Department of Manpower Services under the Training on Employers' Premises Scheme: 461WA Applications by 6 private companies in Great Britain;
An application by the National Federation of Fruit and Potato Trades;
Applications by two nationalized industries, the National Coal Board and British Gas;
An application by the Joint Standing Committee for the Newspaper Industry.
The following current application will, if successful, benefit a voluntary body:
Application by the Queen Elizabeth's Foundation for the Disabled.
No current application will benefit a local authority.
The remaining current applications are from Government Departments or their agencies and will not benefit non-Governmental bodies, local authorities or voluntary organisations. These applications are in respect of the following operations:
Schemes of training and transference for unemployed workers in the assisted areas of Great Britain
Schemes for the training, transference and rehabilitation of former agricultural workers and workers in or leaving the textile and clothing industries, in Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Training schemes run by the Forestry Commission
Training schemes run by the Northern Ireland Departments of Agriculture. Education and Manpower Services (DMS)
Schemes to encourage training and safeguard the position of young workers during a period of high unemployment
Schemes to assist disabled people in Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Schemes to assist migrant workers and their families
A project to set up a training centre in Chesterfield
Schemes of training in rural areas run by the Council for Small Industries in Rural Areas (COSIRA) and the Small Industries Council for Rural Areas in Scotland (SICRAS).

English Clays, Lovering, Pochin and Co. Ltd.,
19 companies in Northern Ireland.
