§ Mr. Cryerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many houses, flats and other local authority buildings were affected by the use of asbestos in construction which has subsequently caused concern for residents or users.
§ Mr. FreesonResidents or users of local authority buildings are likely to have expressed any concern about the use of asbestos in their construction to the local authority rather than to my Department. We have not asked local authorities for this information nor do we think the degree of risk involved calls for doing so at this stage.
