£ 1951 0.20 1952–54 0.225 1955–57 0.25 1958–60 0.30 1961–62 0.325 1963–64 0.375 1965–66 0.50 1967–76 0.55 It would not be appropriate at the present time to make any change in the pattern of industrial death benefit in relation to the national insurance widow's pension. As the hon. Member is aware, the Royal Commission on Civil Liability and Compensation for Personal Injury under the chairmanship of Lord Pearson is considering the question of compensation for accidents generally.
