HC Deb 26 May 1976 vol 912 c231W
Mr. Woof

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much support the British Railways Board has claimed from him for operating its passenger system during 1976.

Dr. Gilbert

I have accepted the board's claim for £311.9 million compensation for the estimated net cost in 1976 of operating its rail passenger system in accordance with the public service obligation laid on it under Section 3 of the Railways Act 1974.
