asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what guidance he has issued to health authorities on methods man with two children, three children and four children, respectively, earning £25, £30, £35, £40, £45, £50, £55 and £60, if his gross weekly wage were increased by 3 per cent., assuming increases in social security benefits recently announced and assuming changes in tax allowances conditional on a 3 per cent. pay ceiling.

Following is the answer. Because of the high cost involved it is not possible to justify calculating more than a limited number of examples. For this reason the three-child family is not covered.
