HC Deb 26 May 1976 vol 912 c280W
Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many of the 170,702 lone parents who have successfully applied for child interim benefit to date will gain nothing from the benefit as a result of reduction in their supplementary benefit or in a social security benefit.

Mr. Orme

20,299 awards have been made to lone parents on supplementary benefit; most of them will not have gained financially, but those with supplementary benefit of less than £1.50 will have done so.
