asked the Attorney-General how many notices of intended prosecution have been served under Statutory Instrument 2213 of 1975 since the coming into effect of Regulation 3 thereof.

From the coming into operation on 5th January 1976 of the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Regulations 1975, SI 1975, No. 2213 Northern Ireland, until 21st May 1976 directions for prosecution for contravention of the provisions of Regulation 3 have been given by the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland in respect of 13 cases.

asked the Attorney-General what representations he has received about prosecutions for homosexual offences in Northern Ireland; and what replies he has given.

The Attorney-General

I have received representations in relation to prosecutions for homosexual offences in Northern Ireland from the 1974 Committee for Homosexual Law Reform. I have acknowledged these representations and have initiated inquiries on the subject so as to enable me to reply.
