HC Deb 26 May 1976 vol 912 cc234-5W
28. Mr. Peter Morrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has for consultations on the Layfield Report on Local Government Finance.

39. Mr. Gwilym Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what arrangements he is making for consultations on the Layfield Report on Local Government Finance; what time scale he is establishing for these consultations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Shore

The local authority associations, the TUC, the CBI and other employers' associations will be invited to comment on the report, as will consumer organisations. Other specialist bodies will be asked as appropriate for their views on particular aspects of the report. As I told the House on 19th May, we will welcome comments from all interested organisations and the public at large. My right hon. Friends are making separate arrangement for Scotland and Wales.
