(2) what undertakings he has received from the Scottish Development Agency that there will be early provision of factories on the Canderside industrial site.
§ Mr. MillanNegotiations for acquisition of the land have already begun between the agency and the East Kilbride and Stonehouse Development Corporation, who own the site; the chairman of the agency has said publicly that the Canderside area will be developed as an integral part of the agency's factory programme. The terms and timing of take over, and the pace of subsequent development, must however remain matters for the agency within the wider context of the overall industrial strategy in the region.
