§ Mr. Steenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek powers to make illegal the practice which exists whereby the taxpayer bears the cost of the interest on bridging loans taken out by owner-occupiers whose property has been compulsorily acquired by a public authority which has been dilatory in paying the actual compensation.
