§ Mr. Luceasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will consider requesting NATO to place observers on board Royal Navy protection vessels operating off Iceland to monitor incidents with the Icelandic coastguard.
§ Mr. HattersleyWe have already made this suggestion to NATO. As my right hon. Friend the Minister of State for Defence told the House on 9th March, it was, unfortunately, rejected by the Icelandic Government.
