HC Deb 21 May 1976 vol 911 c739W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the length of roadway, the estimated cost and the start and completion date for the new road between the Castledawson round-about and Randalstown.

Mr. Concannon

The length of the proposed new road between the Castledawson roundabout and the end of the Randalstown bypass is about nine miles. The approximately estimated cost is £2.5 million at September 1975 prices. It is not possible to forecast accurately the start and completion dates, which will depend on the finance available for the

* The figures for the first half year in 1973–74 could only be provided with a disproportionate use of resources because local government reorganisation effective from 1st October 1973 resulted in changes in the boundaries of the former local authorities which had road responsibilities.
