§ Mr. PrenticeI should like to see a faster rate of increase in public expenditure devoted to overseas aid, but the Government have always had to make it clear that this must depend on the pace of our own economic recovery and on the other calls on our resources. Meanwhile, our aid is increasingly directed to development for the benefit of the world's poorest, and especially to rural development.
