§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to alter the situation whereby at least one-third of patients are receiving psycho-tropic drugs for periods of one month or more, as shown in the evidence sent to him by the hon. Member for Brent. South.
§ Dr. OwenAlthough the treatment provided for an individual patient is a matter for the clinical judgment of the responsible doctor, the efficacy of psycho-tropic drugs will be assessed by the Committee on the Review of Medicines, and I would refer my hon.
