§ Mr. Percivalasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many county court judgment summonses were issued by or on behalf of his Department in each of the years 1973, 1974 and 1975; how many of those summonses were heard; in how many of those cases an order for committal to prison was made; and in how many cases the debtor was in fact committed to prison.
§ Mr. Denzil Davies,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 10th May 1976; Vol. 911, c. 60], gave the following information:
No judgment summonses were issued by the Customs and Excise in any of the years 1973, 1974 or 1975.
Judgment summonses applied for by the Inland Revenue were as follows:
