§ Mr. Michael McNair-Wilsonasked the Prime Minister if he will consider commemorating the services to the nation of the late Field Marshal Lord Montgomery of El Alamein by a statue or memorial.
§ The Prime MinisterThis is a matter in which it would be best to proceed by agreement. If there is broad public support for the hon. Member's proposal I will be glad to enter into consultation as to how the nation can best commemorate Lord Montgomery's services.
