§ Mr. McElhoneThe former Glasgow Corporation discussed with my Department its plans for a gallery to house the collection, and the City of Glasgow District Council has sought my consent to its starting construction in 1976–77. I hope shortly to inform the council of my decision on this and on its request for an increase in the Government grant offered in 1967.
